A pro-russian Varna Member of Parliament fights an imaginary “Ukrainian enclave”

In recent months, we at KYB Corporation have been observing a coordinated and systematic campaign aimed at discrediting our company, led by a pro-russian political party. Politicians with parliamentary immunity are using aggressive rhetoric and inciting hostility toward successful entrepreneurs of both Ukrainian and Bulgarian origin who have delivered numerous residential projects in Varna.

Of particular concern is the malicious campaign targeting the company’s sites in the “Baba Alino” area, heavily accompanied by falsehoods, insinuations, and blatant misrepresentations by a Member of parliament, leading to the deliberate misleading of responsible state and local authorities.

In “Baba Alino” – Alen Mak area, Varna, the company operates exclusively on privately owned plots. These are neither municipal lands nor part of the Golden Sands Nature Park, despite being located nearby. All our projects are carried out in full compliance with all regulatory acts and administrative requirements.

There is no illegal construction by KYB Corporation in Golden Sands Nature Park!

On the contrary!

There has been clearing, cleaning, and improvement of land in “Baba Alino,” much of which had been abandoned and covered with waste long before becoming the corporation’s property. This is being done while preserving and additionally planting new green areas, in full environmental compliance and with care for the environment—conditions that were not present when we acquired the land.

Despite this, from a statement made by a Varna MP from the party, we were surprised to learn that an illegal intrusion into KYB Corporation’s private property on March 27, 2026, was described as a “liberated Ukrainian enclave,” which is, of course, untrue.

According to the Explanatory Dictionary of the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, an enclave is defined as “a state or part of a state whose territory is entirely surrounded by the territory of another state.”

At KYB Corporation, we are perplexed as to why politicians use false statements, supported by images and rhetoric unrelated to our activities; why they mislead officials, exert pressure on them, and ultimately distort information with the aim of inciting hostility.

During the period 2024–2025, numerous inspections of our sites were conducted by state and municipal authorities. We acknowledge that certain violations were identified. All of them have been promptly remedied, and the company has taken actions in accordance with the legal requirements of the Republic of Bulgaria—compensatory programs are currently underway and being implemented. We have also paid fines.

KYB Corporation fully cooperates with institutions at all times.

The area provides free access to all common parts and roads. There are no barriers, fences, or checkpoints. There is also no “armed security”—a fact that is easily verifiable. However, as with any private construction site, there are unarmed security personnel and video surveillance, footage of which we can provide.

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, private property is inviolable. Otherwise, any Member of Parliament or their supporters could enter any private home of a Bulgarian citizen, dispose of it, and destroy property at will.

At the same time, deliberate incitement to hatred and the use of hate speech, as well as unlawful entry into private property, constitute criminal offenses under the Penal Code and carry criminal liability.

We remind that in Bulgaria there have already been cases of politicians convicted for hate speech.

It is incomprehensible to us that active politicians, who claim to represent citizens in parliament in the future, demonstrate such a lack of understanding of the country’s fundamental law.

Moreover, KYB Corporation has recorded multiple attempts to enter our private property (for which we have video evidence), as well as acts of damage. Videos published by the political party on their official Facebook channels prove that such actions are carried out either personally by politicians with immunity from prosecution or by their supporters.

We understand that, given the current political and economic climate both nationally and globally, some Bulgarian politicians may feel uncertainty about their political future and careers. However, we категорically do not accept that this should come at the expense of our legitimately operating business and social initiatives.

We would also like to emphasize that KYB Corporation is improving an area that had been neglected for years, creating a significant number of jobs—for dozens of Ukrainian refugees as well as many Bulgarian citizens—paying its taxes diligently (we remind politicians that their salaries are also funded by taxes paid by all working individuals and companies in the country, regardless of ownership), and contributing to improving the image of Varna and the region.

Sincerely,
Oleg Nevzorov — Owner and the team of KYB Corporation
