“Business must, above all, think about people”: Interview with KYB Founder Oleg Nevzorov

The international development corporation KYB continues to systematically invest in the growth of Varna and the regional economy of Bulgaria. This is not just about construction, but about a full set of accompanying solutions – from urban logistics and landscaping to the revitalization of problematic sites and the launch of social initiatives. Founder Oleg Nevzorov spoke about this in an interview with 24 Chasa.

He emphasized that KYB sees its mission in creating real long-term value for the city and its people, rather than simply putting more and more buildings into operation:

“Every project of ours, wherever it may be, we strive to integrate organically into the urban or natural environment. When we build a home, we are creating a space for relaxation, for life at a comfortable, calm pace. But with every possible convenience and high-quality service,” says Oleg Nevzorov.

This approach translates into concrete solutions: green walking routes and convenient seaside access points, safe and well-lit pedestrian passages, and local everyday service facilities are built around projects.

The company deliberately takes on complex tasks that immediately improve the quality of the urban environment. One of the most recent examples is the transformation of an abandoned long-term construction project at Kabakum into a premium residential complex, complete with a landscaped and illuminated seaside staircase instead of an illegal dump.

“We make other people’s problems our own and solve them – including taking responsibility for the realization of frozen, unfinished projects,” the KYB founder explains, adding that for many years the company has been much more than just a construction corporation. This is because of its focus on caring for the present of the cities it operates in – and, importantly, their future as well, through creating opportunities for young Bulgarians in education and employment.

“When jobs appear, when modern services and a clear perspective are available, young Bulgarians choose to stay at home rather than seek opportunities abroad. This is precisely the multiplier effect we are striving to strengthen in Varna – systematically and in the long term,” Nevzorov stresses.

He also shared that KYB’s portfolio has exceeded 3 million square meters of residential and commercial real estate over more than 20 years of operations, with over 6,000 specialists working on its projects. In Bulgaria alone, between 2022 and 2025, the corporation helped attract around €420 million in investment, launched more than 150 new businesses in Varna, and contributed significant tax revenues.

According to Oleg Nevzorov, Varna is a “city with colossal potential”, where responsible development has much to do and ample opportunities to collaborate with local players.

“There are active local developers here, and I sincerely respect the way they are improving the environment… the more quality construction and reconstruction of outdated sites appears, the better the cityscape and economy become,” he summarized in the interview.

KYB will continue to act in line with its strategy: investing in Varna’s economy, improving the quality of the urban environment, creating jobs, and providing residents with daily comfort – both in their homes and all around them. This, the company’s founder underscores, is how the values of responsible development become reality: when results are measured not only in square meters, but also in convenience, safety, and the sustainability of the city.
