Hello,
My name is Oleg Nevzorov, and since March 2022, Varna has become my second home.
Myself, my partners, and our company have been subjected to unprecedented political and institutional pressure over the past year.
Manipulative and outright false statements regarding the legality of one of our projects in Bulgaria have been circulated in the public sphere. After arriving in the country, we began doing what we have been doing for the last 20 years – construction and investment.
We have invested millions of euros into projects in Varna, with the clear conviction that all our activities are fully compliant with the law. When the attacks against us began, we initially considered them part of pre-election rhetoric, assuming that local sentiment was being influenced against Ukrainians for purely political reasons. This is why we underestimated the situation and did not take more decisive measures at an earlier stage.
I would like to share a bit more about myself and my work here in Bulgaria. I am an educated person with three university degrees. I have never been convicted, I have a clean criminal record, and I have not been rehabilitated following any conviction. I am not aware of any cases or pre-trial proceedings initiated against me.
I do not use any social privileges under the Refugee Act — neither housing assistance, nor medical benefits, nor facilitated access to the labor market. I have not caused any harm to the state budget. On the contrary, as a manager of commercial companies in Bulgaria, I am an employer of a significant number of both Bulgarian and Ukrainian employees and their families, providing jobs and duly paying all taxes arising from our business activities.
But business is not everything.
I actively support social and charitable initiatives in Bulgaria. Citizens of Ukraine, Bulgaria, and local NGOs take part in them. I am engaged in supporting initiatives for children, educational and cultural projects, as well as numerous initiatives for the public benefit of Varna.
I believe that Varna is my second home, and I want to continue contributing to its development. I have even attracted more foreign investors to the city because I believe in its potential.
Thank you to everyone who supports me and accepts me as part of this community.
I believe that the institutions of Bulgaria will arrive at the truth, and justice will prevail!
