KYB continues its ecological year: next “Сливи за смет” plogging to take place on Black Sea Day

The international corporation KYB continues its year-long cycle of sport-and-eco initiatives “Сливи за смет” in Varna! The next event will take place on November 1, dedicated to International Black Sea Day — a day that reminds us of the shared responsibility of the region’s countries and businesses for the sea’s cleanliness and wellbeing.

As before, the event will be held in the plogging format — an active walk combined with litter collection. This time, the KYB team, together with partners from the Rodni Balkani Tourist Society and volunteers from the “Ми разом” organization, will join efforts to clean up Varna’s city beach. The plogging route will pass through the green areas of the Galata district and along the “Veteran” and “Chernomorets” shelters — favorite spots for both locals and visitors.

The organizers have also prepared an entertaining program: sports orienteering competitions, family relay games, a climbing wall, and a traditional soup cooked  according to the recipe of the event’s longtime organizer — Aunt Zhiva. All cleaning materials — bags, gloves, and drinking water — will be provided on site by KYB and its partners.

“For KYB Corporation, it is important not only to deliver large-scale development projects but also to sustain the environment and community wellbeing where we operate. The ‘Сливи за смет’ initiative is a symbol of our respect for cities, people, and nature. We believe that clean spaces build healthy communities, and sustainable practices begin with the responsible attitude of every citizen,” said Rosen Nikov, representative of KYB Corporation.

After the event, all collected waste will be sorted, and plastic materials will be recycled for further use in construction and urban art projects. This approach combines environmental awareness with cultural development in Varna — a city where respect for nature has always been part of its identity.
