The third “Сливи за смет” plogging event took place in Varna

At the initiative of the international corporation KYB, the next plogging walk within the year-long “Сливи за смет” cycle took place in Varna. This time the event — the third in the autumn of 2025 — was held on the grounds of the Early Christian monastery in the Janavare area, one of Varna’s most important archaeological sites located in the Borovets Park near the Asparuhovo district.

The location was chosen deliberately, reflecting KYB’s commitment to supporting urban and natural areas that require careful attention. The ruins of the 5th–7th century basilica often suffer from household waste, and their preservation directly affects Varna’s cultural and tourist identity.

Together with Varna residents, guests of the city from the Magnolia Hotel, and our friends from the “Ми разом” community, we collected nearly 100 kg of waste in the surrounding area and green zones of the monastery complex — and even enjoyed a guided historical tour from a professional!

All collected waste, as in previous events, will be sent for sorting and recycling, after which the plastic will be used to create a new urban art installation.

This third plogging continued the joint work of caring citizens along the previous two routes — in the Golden Sands Nature Park and along the seacoast from Galata to Pasha Dere. Since the launch of the “Сливи за смет” initiative, participants have collected more than 800 kg of waste.

“With every new event, the impact residents can make on their city through collective effort becomes increasingly clear. For KYB, as a corporation of responsible developers, it is important to lead such initiatives — they help make our work to improve the urban environment visible to the community,” said Oleg Nevzorov, founder of KYB.

In addition to the satisfaction of contributing to the city, participants can receive a symbolic plum-shaped patch for each plogging event and for every invited friend. The most active volunteer across the 12-month cycle will receive a special prize from KYB.
