Varna hosted the second plogging event in the 12-month cycle launched by KYB

KYB Corporation continues its “Сливи за смет” series of sport-and-environment events: on November 1, Varna residents came together for a new plogging run along the city’s waterfront to mark Black Sea Day.
The KYB team, together with volunteers and friends from the “Ми разом” community and with the support of the Rodni Balkani tourist association, followed a coastal route near the “Veteran” and “Chernomorets” mountain huts, removing accumulated litter from the shoreline.
During the second event, participants collected 60 bags of waste — over 250 kilograms — including plastic bottles, food packaging, and old textiles. The cleaned beach sections are once again safe and pleasant for visitors; all waste was sent for sorting and recycling, and families enjoyed time outdoors through organized activities.
As with the first event, each participant received a plum-patch badge — a nod to the Bulgarian tale “Сливи за смет” and an incentive to join future events. After all 12 plogging runs, KYB will award a special prize to the most active participant with the most collected “plums.”
“We’re encouraged to see growing interest in our initiative with every event. A culture of responsibility and collective action for the common good is part of KYB’s corporate DNA: it’s not only about building homes, but also about creating a clean, safe, and inspiring environment where people want to live. We’re grateful to every resident of Varna who helps make the city better,” said KYB founder Oleg Nevzorov.
“Сливи за смет” is a year-long plogging programme that combines an active walk with litter collection to promote environmental awareness, waste sorting, and better public spaces.
Over the course of the two clean-up events, Varna’s popular tourist locations were cleared of more than 1,000 kilograms of waste accumulated during the summer season. In particular, during the first round, participants cleaned the walking trails of the Golden Sands Nature Park near the Aladzha Monastery.
